Day 22 in My Test of Internet Marketing

Hi Everyone,

Today is Day 22 in my test to see if internet marketing really works. I am still trying to figure out the whole video thing. It seems my videos are not being accepted by YouTube. I'm not sure why.

This is my progress so far:

1. I have 3 total sales of my ebook.

2. 171 people have signed up for my Free Chapter.

3. I have been submitting articles to article directories

4. I am advertising on Jon & Kate Plus 8 website and Momstown.com

I want to start doing how to videos to submit to youtube. I have also created a sales page for Clickbank. I'm still working on it and should have it finished soon.

I find myself all excited and working on my business and then I slow down. I feel like I'm in a slow down right now. I need to get motivated. I really want to sell ebooks so I need to focus.

Day 18 - Podcasting

I was hoping to have a video for you, however, I recorded 2 of them and they don't seem to be uploading correctly for some reason. I'm going to get a free trial of Sony Vegas to see if that will solve the problem.

I haven't posted in a few days so here is my progress:

1. I have written a sales page for Clickbank. I'm waiting on 2 testimonials and then it will be finished. I would like to advertise on there the beginning of next week. Hopefully affiliates will see it and promote it.

2. I have been submitting articles to the directories. I also submitted a press release through Ezine Articles. They have to approve it so I'm waiting on approval.

3. I found a great website, www.momstown.com. It is two women who give advice on a variety of topics for Moms. They also have a community where you can have a little mini-website and post your community happenings. I signed up so now I need to submit my information.

4. I am going to podcast. I listened to a call last night and it sounds great. I am so excited. I am going to have my own show through the Alive Network. That is who is hosting my eBook and who put my multi-media eBook together. Click on the link above and it will take you to their site. This is a great resource if you are thinking about creating a multi-media eBook. You can also browse the other eBooks that are available.

We are going to have our own podcast channel and will get traffic for each other. I see it as a real plus and a great marketing tool. I can't wait to get that started.

That is where I am at. It is Friday and tonight I am off to a relaxing get-away. I'm staying at a bed and breakfast. I like to scrapbook so I will be doing that. However, I'm sure I will be thinking or working on my business.

Day 13 - What Is Happening With My Ebook

Hi Everyone,

Today is Day 13. The weekend was busy for me as I didn't get too much accomplished. What I did do was:

• Posted more articles
• Sent emails to potential affiliates for my ebook. I got a response from some people. I sent our an email to internet marketers that I have bought products from. 2 of them told me that they couldn't promote it as they get requests all the time. They also said it is not what their list wants. I can understand that. I realized that I was taking a chance by submitting to them so I didn't get upset when I heard the responses.

Things I realized this weekend:

• If I want to have an affiliate program, I need to advertise on Clickbank. So that means I need to come up with a sales letter. Saturday evening I worked on the copy for a sales letter. Writing copy is hard for me, but I learned to look at other people's work and take ideas from them. That will be my goal this week. Write a sales letter for Clickbank.

• I need to find my target market and advertise to them. That means I need to find parenting websites where I can promote my ebook. That will be another goal this week.

• I need to start doing teleseminars. I wanted to have one this week, but I don't think I can get anything ready. This week I will set a date to start my first teleseminar and send an email to my list of the date. If I get signups, great, if not, I will just do the teleseminar and have it taped for future use.
  

The whole promotion thing is tough. But if I want to sell ebooks, I need to get it going. I find it hard to find the time. Maybe I making an excuse. If I get up earlier, I would have the time. I know I need to be committed and keep at it so sales can start rolling in. My list is at 113 so I feel that is good since I only really started 2 weeks ago.

Day 10 - It's Snowing!

Today is Day 10. I don't really have too much to report. Many things need to be done, but I wasn't able to get them done today.

I have been thinking about Podcasting. There was going to be a teleseminar tonight, but it was postponed until next week. I'm thinking podcasting would be a great marketing tool.

Day 9 - I Got A Sale!!!

Today was very exciting for me as I got a sale. Yeah!!!

Boy, this advertising is tough. I do have to say that. Hopefully I can keep adding sales often. I'll keep striving and putting everything to the test.

I heard an interesting story today when I was teaching my daughter her language arts lesson. Thomas Edison refused to give up when he was inventing the light bulb. He said, I have not failed 10,000 times. I have successfully found 10,000 things that won't work. With each thing that wouldn't work, he felt that he was one step closer to finding what would work. The result of all his hard work is that we now have electric lights.

That is a great lesson and one that I needed to here. About an hour later is when I got my sale! So anyone that is doing internet marketing too, keep going and persevering. It will happen!

Tuesday - Day 8 on my Internet Marketing Test

Today is Day 8 in my test to see if Internet Marketing really works. So far I have 91 names on my list, but no one has purchased an eBook. I really can't get too worked up about that because they say your conversion rate is around 1-2%. My main focus should be to build more names.

Ways to do that is affiliate marketing, article marketing, web 2.0. I'm working on all those things so hopefully my list will continue to grow.

I am considering adding classes to my list of products. I was working on a Class today about digital cameras. I also want to do a teleseminar on digital cameras. I was thinking about doing a teleseminar once a week. Teleseminars are really hot right now so I need to add that to my marketing.

My goal today is to continue advertising on web 2.0 sites, post to more article directories and considering a teleseminar.

I will try to have a video tomorrow showing my progress.

Do You Ever Have Nothing Days?

That is how I feel about yesterday. It was Day 4 in my challenge to see if internet marketing really works. At the start of the day, I had great plans to promote my eBook. But by the end of the day, I felt like I didn't get anything done with the promotion.

I homeschool, as I am a stay-at-home Mom. I do feel accomplished as we got a lot done with school so it wasn't a total nothing day. I was also able to wash my dishes and clean up the house. Maybe I just needed a break from the promoting.

One thing I did do was change my homepage, which wasn't on my list. The reason I did this was I thought if I promote to other internet marketers, I should have a nice homepage for them to look at. This would probably help their decision in becoming an affiliate of mine.

I actually have two sites. One is just the eBook, which is at http://www.yourkidsphotoebook.com and the other is http://www.beyourkidsphotographer.com, which is kind of the main hub for everything. It has the affiliate program on it and information about me.

So I can't say I didn't do anything yesterday. I just wanted to do more and I wasn't able to. Sometimes that will happen. So I just need to persevere and keep moving forward.

Today is Friday, January 11, Day 5. Things to do today:

1. Print out Clickbank's affiliate program guidelines and read.
2. Promote using web 2.0 strategies.
3. Draft an email to send to possible affiliates.

My Affiliate Program Is Finished!

This is Day 4 on my test of internet marketing. From reading the other posts, you will know that I am putting internet marketing to the test. My project is an eBook that I am promoting at Your Kids Photo Ebook. I have studied internet marketing for a year and I want to see if it really works. I am taking 5 weeks and see what happens.

I am happy to say that I finished my affiliate program. You can check it out by clicking on the link. Anyone that signs up and sells my eBook, will receive 50% of each eBook sold. The eBook sells for $24.95. I am hoping to promote to other internet marketers. I have posted info on the Job Crusher website, which I am a member of. When memberships open again, I will let you know how to get involved because it is a great way to learn internet marketing.

I checked into Clickbank and I need to read up on it so I am not ready to promote on there yet. I have also received my marketing flyers from the printers, AdoramaPix. I will be distributing them to different businesses in my area. Here is what it looks like:

1. Email internet marketers of my affiliate program.
2. Advertise on social networking sites - I have a list of about 35 websites. If anyone knows of any, please let me know. If I don't have them on my list, I can advertise there as well.

Day 3 - My Progress with Testing Internet Marketing

I was hoping to have a video for you today. My battery died the last time I did a video so I need to get another battery. Hopefully today I can get one.

Yesterday was a good day. I didn't get everything done that I had hoped to. (See Below) Getting up early helped, but I did go back to sleep until around 8:30.

One of my goals was to have 50 people sign up for my list to get the Free Chapter. At the end of the day, I had 54. I was so excited. Now I need to convert them into buyers of the whole ebook. I emailed my friend and asked her to work on my autoresponder messages. To make them sound catchy, like I was having a conversation with them. They are now changed.

I wanted to go over yesterday's tasks and let you know how I did:

1. To finish my affiliate program through my shopping cart system.
(I am still working on it. There are a lot of steps involved.)

2. Send an email to potential affiliates. (Other internet marketers)
(This one goes with the one above)

3. Change one page in my eBook at the end of the free chapter telling people they can buy the whole book for $24.95.
(I have made this change. I think it is going to cost me as I made a change after the book was completed. Hopefully the bill isn't too much.)

4. Create one article from my eBook.
(My friend is working on articles for me. She is going to break down the book and create articles. She is better at that than I am, so I hired her to do it for me.)

5. List my book on Squidoo.

Today's tasks are:

1. Finish affiliate program.
2. Sign up for affiliate program on Clickbank.
3. Work on videos for homepage of Be Your Kid's Photographer and I Found My Niche.

What Should I Do Today?

It is January 8, at 4:30 a.m. I woke up early because I heard my husband. He gets up early for work and discovered this morning that he locked his keys in his truck. He was able to open the lock by using a hanger. Since I couldn't fall back to sleep, I decided to work a little on the computer until I felt tired again to go back to sleep.

Today is Day 2 in my test of internet marketing. I checked to see how many people signed up for my Free Chapter and there are 38. Yesterday, I had 29. My list is growing. I am so excited!!!! Advertising on Jon & Kate Plus 8's website is definitely helping. Now I need to convert to sales. More marketing is needed.

My tasks today are:

1. To finish my affiliate program through my shopping cart system.
2. Send an email to potential affiliates. (Other internet marketers)
3. Change one page in my eBook at the end of the free chapter telling people they can buy the whole book for $24.95.
4. Create one article from my eBook.
5. List my book on Squidoo.

How I Am Putting Internet Marketing To The Test

My name is Christina Moyer and I am putting internet marketing to the test

I have been studying internet marketing for a year and I would like to see if it really works. I hear so many internet marketers say that you can make six figures within a year. I would love to make $1,000 per month right now. More would be great, like $5,000 per month, but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

I have studied niche marketing under Robin & Linda at Biz Recipes. These women are great if you looking to start any business on the internet. Like they taught me, I have found my niche. Something I know about, photography. I narrowed it down to children's portraits.

I have created an eBook and website called Be Your Kid's Photographer, which is a step-by-step guide on how to take your children's portraits saving you time and money.

I have finished the eBook and it is at www.YourKidsPhotoEbook.com. Now I am at the marketing part. I have read so much information on how to market so now I am putting it to the test. Through Job Crusher, Eric says you can make money in 5 weeks. However, you have to focus and be consistent. Not just work on the weekends. Every day something needs to be done.

I am a stay-at-home Mom and also homeschool so my time is limited, however, I decided if I get up at 7 a.m. and work for a few hours before the kids get up, it can happen. I can also work in the evenings after they go to bed.

As far as the marketing, I have created a word document for my Marketing Plan. It is as follows:

Page 1 - Build a list - Tellman Knudson is brilliant at this. I have bought one of his list building programs.

Obtain Affiliates
Use my shopping cart system to create an affiliate program
Send emails to other internet marketers to promote my program
I recently found out about a program to build lists of affiliates - I'll talk more about that later. Once I figure it out.
Use Clickbank

Page 2 - Articles
Break down sections of my book and turn them into articles
Create a press release promoting my book

Create online ads
I have already placed an ad on www.sixgosselins.com under their favorite businesses. It was very inexpensive and they get tons of traffic.

Magazines
Find parenting magazines and photo magazines to see about advertising

Word of Mouth
Ask friends to promote book
Advertise at mother and preschoolers group that I go to

I have created a mini brochure and have uploaded them to my photo printer for developing. I used Adorama and I just got an email today saying they are on their way to my mailbox.

Submit brochures to local community boards such as libraries, grocery stores, etc.

Post on many blogs
Submit to squidoo and many other web 2.0 sites
Submit videos to video directories

Wow, it just seems all so overwhelming. Now I know why only 1-5% of people make it on the internet. I heard that somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I really want to make this work so I am committing to 5 weeks.
